                                                                    Receive comprehensive managed care experience with OptumRx, one of the country’s leading pharmacy
                                                                    benefit managers.

                                                                    This Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Managed Care Residency Program, established in July 2000, was designed 
                                                                    to train pharmacists to meet the demands and challenges faced in today’s managed care environment. 
                                                                    Residents will gain experience in various aspects of managed care within a pharmacy and medical 
                                                                    management setting by rotating through several departments of OptumRx. Residents will also develop 
                                                                    innovative programs and contribute to ongoing projects.

                                                                    The PGY-1 Managed Care Residency Program builds on the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education 
                                                                    to further develop managed care pharmacist leaders responsible for population-based, 
                                                                    medication-related patient care. Following successful completion of the program, residency graduates will be 
                                                                    qualified for a variety of roles in managed care, including positions in the following areas:

• Clinical programs

                                How to apply

                                                          Applicants must send all required application materials to residencyprogram@optum.com. Required
                                                          application materials include:

                                                              •Official pharmacy school transcript (with current-year, first semester grades posted),
                                                                emailed directly from applicant’s school of pharmacy
                                                              • Personal statement/letter of intent 
                                                              • Curriculum vitae
                                                              • Three letters of recommendation, emailed directly from the letter writers
